We clean up pretty well. 🥰
Sometimes I catch old pictures of me and I am surprised by how much I have changed! This is easily a 40 pound difference. Listen, this change has taken YEARS, not months. It has required a lot of effort to change my patterns and my food preferences. I work out nearly every day now. (And yes, I still eat pizza and ice cream.) If anyone tries to tell you that you can lose weight fast, they are definitely selling you something. I am not trying to sell you anything, I just want to encourage you in your pursuit of self-care and health, whatever that looks like for you. I love my body and what it is capable of. I love the empowerment I feel from knowing how strong I am, that I can literally scale mountains, climb walls, lift a hundred pounds over my head, etc. This empowerment has given me confidence that I use in all areas of life. Working out hasn't "fixed me" or made me perfect, but is sure helps keep my mental and physical health in check. The post-workout endorphins and the mental satisfaction I feel after persevering through a tough workout show my mind and body what I can really do, and it turns out, I can do quite a lot that I never knew was possible. I am grateful to my body, to my workout friends near and far. Get out there and make your health a priority, and don't worry about the number on the scale. Pounds will come off, body composition will change, but that's not the only thing that matters. You are still incredible even with excess weight. What really matters is that you need to love yourself enough to treat your body just as well as you treat your family, your coworkers, your friends: give it time, give it attention, give it love.
